What is a programmer?

A programmer is a piece of equipment dedicated to the physical modification of microcontroller's memory according to the compiled (assembled) source code. A good programmer should be designed in compliance to the manufacturer's device programming specification to offer the maximum reliability of the programming process without impairing the device reliability. It is also very important that the accompanying software is easy to use and flexible, so that the user can choose the mode of operation most congenial to his work style.

Currently we offer PRESTO - the in-system USB programmer. Other ASIX programmers were already discontinued, information about these products is still available in our Museum. We recommend the LabTool family of programmers made by Advantech Equipment Corporation for production programming.
